2. VERIFICATION OF THE REQUEST

The Bank may request appropriate identification documents or additional information reasonably necessary to verify the request.
A deletion or account closure request may be rejected, deferred, or require additional verification if the Bank cannot reasonably establish the requester's identity or authority.
3. PROCESSING OF YOUR REQUEST
After receiving and successfully verifying your request, the Bank will process the applicable account closure and data removal activities through its authorized banking systems and procedures.
Where applicable, the Bank may coordinate with its Core Banking System (CBS), Mobile Banking service provider, technology service providers, payment networks, or other authorized third parties to complete the required account closure and data removal process.
The Bank will provide confirmation through the appropriate contact channel once the request has been processed or completed.
The Bank aims to process verified requests within 3 to 5 business days, subject to the nature of the request, account status, required verification, applicable banking procedures, and any legal or regulatory requirements.
4. WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DATA
When an account deletion request is approved and processed, the Bank will take reasonable steps to delete, remove, anonymize, or otherwise de-identify personal information that is no longer required to be retained.
Depending on the type of information and applicable requirements, this may include information associated with:
Customer profile information;
Contact Information;
Mobile banking access information; and
Other personal information that is no longer required for a lawful purpose.
However, account deletion does not necessarily mean that all information held by the Bank can be immediately or permanently deleted.
Certain records may need to be retained to comply with applicable laws, regulations, banking requirements, anti-money laundering requirements, regulatory reporting obligations, legal claims, audits, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other legitimate and lawful purposes.
Retained information will continue to be protected and will only be processed or accessed for the purposes permitted or required by applicable law.
Where legally and technically appropriate, retained information may be anonymized, de-identified, restricted, or securely archived.
5. DATA RETENTION AND BANKING REQUIREMENTS
Rural Bank of Tandag is subject to legal and regulatory requirements concerning the retention of customer, account, and transaction records.
Certain financial and transactional records may therefore be retained for the period required by applicable Philippine laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements, including applicable anti-money laundering and banking recordkeeping requirements.
The specific retention period may vary depending on the type of record and the applicable legal or regulatory requirement.
The Bank will securely dispose of or delete retained information when the applicable retention period has expired and there is no other lawful reason for continued retention.
6. ACCOUNT BALANCE AND FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS
Before an account can be closed, the Bank may require the customer to settle or appropriately handle any remaining account balance in accordance with the Bank's account closure procedures.
If the customer has outstanding loans, unpaid obligations, pending transactions, legal restrictions, regulatory holds, or other obligations involving the Bank, the account closure request may be deferred until the applicable matter has been resolved.
Account closure does not extinguish any outstanding financial obligation owed to the Bank.
7. EFFECT OF ACCOUNT CLOSURE
Once account closure and the applicable Mobile Banking deactivation process have been completed:
You will no longer be able to access the closed account through the Mobile Banking App;
Mobile banking services associated with the closed account will be deactivated;
Access to account information through the Mobile Banking App will no longer be available;
Certain information may continue to be retained where required or permitted by applicable law or legitimate banking requirements; and
Account closure and deletion of applicable personal information may not be reversible.
Customers should obtain or retain any account statements, transaction records, or other documents they may reasonably need before completing the account closure process.
8. SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
The Bank implements reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information during account closure, data removal, retention, and disposal.
Access to customer information is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers who require access for legitimate banking, operational, security, legal, or regulatory purposes.
9. IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MOBILE BANKING ACCESS
Submitting an account deletion request does not automatically result in immediate deletion or closure.
The request must first undergo identity verification and the Bank's applicable account closure procedures.
Customers should continue to protect their Mobile PIN, password, OTPs, and other authentication credentials until the Bank confirms that the applicable account closure and mobile banking deactivation process has been completed.
